A letter from Scrooge to his past self

Dear Past Scrooge,

The new year is coming to an end and I have been thinking recently on how much I have changed. I know you will never be able to read this, however, with everything that I have seen, there is a small light of hope that someday, somehow, you will be able to read this.

I am still in shock with myself how I changed and became a new person overnight but at the same time, I am not surprised either. One of my changes was my opinion about Christmas. Instead of boiling the man who goes around saying Merry Christmas, I feel obliged to return the word!

I also now have changed my ways, beginning with giving Bob Cratchit a raise. He is a poor man with a family to support, I must not forget Timothy, the poor little boy who is disabled, whose life is in my hands.

Although my time is coming close to an end, I believe that no matter how old or young, poor or rich, there is always a chance to change because one day, the kindness you have shown all your life, will be rewarded.

Yours sincerely,

Present Scrooge
